Subject: Cataract surgery, multifocal lens, and Halos

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
Scheduled to met with specialist next week. Spent some time researching all this, all new to me. Primary question today-sounds like one of the cons of multifocus lens is the Halo or glare, i.e. night driving. How much of a concern and or problem is this for those of you who have gone down this road already, (pun intended- at night). I am 72 years old, don't really drive that much at night anymore anyway, but am concerned that it would really bother me if I did see those halos at night driving.

Second question: somehow I get the idea that some people who have the multifocal lens still wind up having to use readers to see upclose. Is correct or not?

any experiences you could share would be appreciated. bruce.
