East Central Arkansas | My garlic bed about a 10 foot circle in our yard is up and growing. About 6 inch height I would say. This was a small clump my father planted sometime back in the 80's. It has gradually grown over the years and just the last few years I have tried to do something with it. Harvested pretty heavy in 24 and that Fall I tilled it up and replanted with cloves I had dug that rear. I didn't have many nice bulbs this year so dug just enough for our use. Hoping for a good harvest this coming Spring. I have been mowing the area of early Fall. I have never mulched it other than what leaves get there from the yard trees. I sure have plenty of leaves that could be used but would also be planting acorns in the bed. I realize we don't have near the cold you have. | |
