This is what I struggle with. Is it really deserved? Beans were low in 2024 as well, but no trade war. So how do you square it? Can’t blame the trade war when I haven’t sold any beans this fall below my high from last fall. It’s a good talking point, the media loves it because it’s a black mark on Trump, the farmer loves it because it’s free money, etc. But isn’t really deserved? Did someone lie to you about the futures price a year ago when you bought soybeans to plant for 2025? I just don’t see it. If you went all in on corn for 2025 because of the price then imo you’re stupid and part of our “suppressed” corn price all summer long. If you planted beans you at least understood economics and how commodities interact with each other price wise
My goodness lemmings.......carryout in 2024 was nearly 500 million bushels. 2023 was 245 with a $12.94 price. 2025 is 290 million and we just rallied a $1.50 to get to $11.70. Trump took $2 a bushel from your pockets all year and your all on here like "gee soybean price is better than a year ago" in your best Forest Gump voice. Did you know corn is .50 from the tariffs too? How do you think we got 198 million acres planted. Get a clue, do some reading, stop letting the government use you. Trump needed us for negotiations and promised to pay for it. How about you decline the money, but I want mine. |
