That's how it works, you've had to had that crop there before to collect pp on newly acquired land. Always always get newly rented land planted.
Mistakes like this are part of growth as a farmer, they always cost $$$$$$. Painful yes. End of the world no. Im saying this because I've made mistakes like that too.
