Subject: RE: Old folks heavy duty flu shots

When my parents were alive, my Dad would never get the flue shot, and he generally didn't get sick. My Mom ALWAYS got the flue shot, and she invariably would get sick. Whether it was "the flue", or a common cold, I wouldn't say.  But she would get sick.  And my Dad would remind her of this whenever she pestered him to go get his flue shot.....

About two weeks ago, I decided to make an appointment and get a flue and Covid shot.  About 3 days later, I came down with a cold.  Yes, I know "they" said flue and colds are not the same, and a flue shot will not prevent a cold. However, I thought about my Dad's perspective when I came down with this cold. It crossed my mind..... maybe I should not get gotten those shots, and I might not have gotten sick...
