When it comes to flu shots, the 3 letter agency forecasts what strain will be prevalent the following year in order to have serum "grown" for distribution. A number of times they have been incorrect in forecasting the strain. When it comes down to shots for illnesses like the flu or 'rona (especially since the flu is strain of corona virus) the body does the best job of combating the illness. There are hundreds of strains of flu, relying on some gov't health agency to forecast the correct one is a roll of the dice at best. | |
