west central Iowa | We use a RPS 800 until about Christmas. We pump into a 7 or 8’ round livestock tank, for 100-150 pairs. We have the 4 gel batteries from RPS and that is nice. Batteries will pump a full day if cloudy and grey. I have a 10’ piece of black water line from top of well to top of tank. Crown is to the top so water drains one way or the other. No check valve on well pump. I chop ice in the morning and chip sensor out. I usually dip in my coffee cup 10-15 seconds to thaw internal ice and tap it out. Usually good for the day. If below zero, I have had to unhook 4th panel in each row and run on 3 panels. Otherwise I get over voltage and it shuts controller off. Solar is more efficient in real cold weather. I can’t help on your timer question. Do you have an overflow on your tank? | |
