| I had an interesting conversation with a guy on the US Badger ferry crossing the lake a couple years ago. He was from by Ludington Michigan I believe. He used to grow a lot of asparagus but with help getting harder to find and the amount of help needed to pick, he had reduced his acres by 75%. It was cheaper to import asparagus from south america ( not sure what country) but he was slowly getting out of the business the way it sounded. H2A help was getting very expensive and harder to jump through all the hoops. | |
