Wow, those are big. I planted a small field of turnips and soybeans for a deer hunter one year and had similar results with them. There were so many and so nice the owner and his wife picked a bunch and ate them themselves.
Same happened to me. I started getting phone calls from people I knew about picking some. lol
The first year the deer didn’t mess with them. You could tell they’d never seen turnips before. The following year the deer demolished them after they had a hard frost.
I like to include turnips because the seed is tiny and they grow with no field work being done. They’re also cheap. |
