Wabash county,Il | If the operation of a feed wagon fits your work load then go for it. By that I mean 2 machines running daily. I do believe the investment of some concrete and feedbunks of some sort would be worth the investment regardless if you stepped to a wagon or stayed with the style of feeding you’re doing now. There are used machines with plenty of life left.
Size of wagon is probably more dependent on the size tractor available to run it. I load with large skidsteer and all dry hay is 5x68” bales and wet bales vary per moisture level so depending on the load size and hay amount required I’ll unroll bale to get small amounts when needed.
I personally wore out 3 horizontal wagons before I bought my first vertical and if I’d known then what I know now I’d never owned a horizontal (with my feed stuffs and grass hay). | |
