North Mississippi Delta / Alabama Gulf Coast | Many years ago, beavers would almost plug a 6’ pipe overnite, keeping our best bottom land wet. Their lodge in the middle of a swamp was about the size of a tandem dump bed.
After killing them one at a time didn’t work, Farm owner brought his mine Forman and crew in and set charges in the beaver lodge and tore out the dam with an excavator. They hung around a couple of days drinking and partying while the beavers moved back home after shoving strip mine charges in the dam on poles with the excavators.
When he set that charge off, it blew water, beaver, mud, logs and sticks a hundred feet up and further out. Shook the ground so hard it registered at the river dam 3 miles away!
Solved the beaver problem for quite a few years back then. |
