NE IA | I background around 150 head 2x per year right now and you would not be able to take my mixer away from me. Consistent ration every time. We have a reel auggie and it works great for it but we chop and pile our triticale to make sure the mixer can handle it and we get our hay ground but even if we had a vertical id still go this route because im too impatient to wait for a bale to get processed in the mixer.
As far as used wagons go, I wouldnt be afraid of them at all. Check for thin spots but they nice thing is most are super simple. Can buy parts for just about any part of them and rebuild yourself. I bought mine off an auction used for $5k, have put a new liner in it and a couple pieces of flighting in but still in it well under what a slightly used or new one would cost. | |
