Since others have mentioned work-place cameras, I will add a testimony by way of Eli Yoder: the ex-Amish truck driver who drives for ECM. They now have those driver-facing cameras & he seriously does not like it. Along with some of the “ zone” -sensors, he finds it all very distracting & has openly stated on his YouTube channel that he is leaving trucking by next year.
I understand why companies feel they must have all these collision-avoidance systems & driver-facing cameras, but the whole mess has become a safety problem of its own. For a driver-if the rig slams on the brakes as he is making a lane-change or some such, the safety systems can actually cause an accident. I know I am not doing an adequate job of explaining all of it, but I hope I am understood.
