Since when is AI the gold standard? American Angus has claw and angle scores...use it. Use only bulls that have lots of reported progeny in....use your head. Back in the 80's....seriously?? We've progressed on from there, lots of good data. If you're still not sure, ask a breeder that will know. I'm still not entirely sure what you're asking?
