Subject: RE: ketones vs glucose - fueling the brain

Pittsburg, Kansas
Normally only something a type I diabetic has to worry about. Under dosing their insulin. Or some medications in type II can cause it.

Ketoacidosis comes about when there is a lack of insulin. Type II diabetics make way too much insulin but the insulin is not working properly.

Nutritional ketosis rarely gets above 5. Most people on very low carb keogenic diets are lucky to make it to two or three. Ketoacidosis is not really a danger till levels get above 10. Nutritional ketosis is noting like ketoacidosis.

Babiess in the womb are in ketosis all the time and are most of the time during breast feeding portion of their development. Their early brain development largely happens while experiencing ketosis. Ketones are especially good for the brain and heart.
