Going through that here. The tower companies are busy trying to get things signed around here, and a similar transmission line is planned here. It will run the railroad ROW from Mason City , Iowa to Chicago and Gary, Ind. They don't give a rats a$$ about the people that live there, only getting towers, battery storage, and eventually solar farms signed up. Some are biting on the bait, and giving easements to the whole farm, not just the footprint of the tower. I've seen and read the easement forms. The county is salivating about the possibility of tax income from them, but the way it's structured, the county will only be getting a pittance for the troubles. Meanwhile, the people that live out here in the country will be forced to put up with the towers while the landowners that sign up live in town or absentee, not where the towers will be. A group of local citizens is fighting the wind companies (and the majority of the county Board Of Supervisors). Frustrating.
