My general rule when designing is to try to get 24" of cover. Less than 18" I start asking questions as far as tillage practices and traffic patterns. Less than 12" Is a no go for me. This can also be affected by traffic. Are there loaded semis driving over the line? Is the loaded grain cart going across it every trip back to the loadout area?
