I would sure feel more comfortable running the cows, farming at this scale is what is new to me. Have yet to find anything that works farming and I know I could make it work with grass. Keep telling myself that farming will come around and I have a good little crew growing fast, one family could run the cows but it’ll be home for 3 families or more with farming. Absolutely no point in doing all the farming work for no profit whatsoever…. Believe me I have pondered this option too. 2022 we bought beautiful bred 3 year olds for 1650-1800. We will be offering them for sale in Glasgow, December 11th along with a hundreds of others. Now is the time to sell bred cows, the opportunity to build cow numbers will come back around. Plan to invest in replacements so We will have plenty of ai work to do next summer too. And still have to option to stock the farm if need be.
