That is likely water retention to a large degree.
Carbohydrates cause the body to hold on to more water than meat protein or fat.
That's interesting. My smart scale can track some other measurements, one of them is body water %. I'll keep my eye on the body water % and see if I notice a relationship to carb intake there. I wouldn't think that the scale is very accurate in any of these other measurements as I believe it's just measuring the electrical resistance between my feet, but I would hope that it at least shows trends. Thank you for that information John.

One nice thing about McDonalds is it is pretty easy to just order hamburger patties either alone or as additional patties on a regular order and also easy to eliminate the bun on the order of any of their burger selections
I have not tried that. Wendy's will make a burger with a "lettuce wrap," they use big leaves of lettuce as the buns. The quality of the assembly is very variable. It can be great and you can eat the lettuce wrapped burger like a normal burger, or it can be terrible and you're pretty much forced to eat it with utensils. I've switched back to the bun because of the variability and the associated mess. Wendy's also has a decent salad that can be subbed for fries, croutons and dressing in separate packets, don't have to use them. |
