Western Oregon | Anyone can have my share. I eat a lot of fish but only salmon, trout, steelhead, albacore tuna, halibut. I have yellow perch in my greenhouse and ponds. I can't eat shell fish. My half brother did smelt, didn't clean them, just smoked them and pulled the head and innards when he ate them. No way, just the thought made me sick when he told me. I just can not do processed fish, has to be fresh. I am the same way with processed beef products, make my own jerky and sausage, even ground beef. If I go out to eat, I usually get a halibut sandwich. We smoke and can salmon and can tuna right off the boat. I can not go off shore to fish. Lots of salmon here in the coastal rivers that I can catch from the bank....James | |
