Subject: RE: Replacement Cataract Lenses

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
If by the "upgraded or better ones" you mean the ones that are like bifocals and correct both distance and nearsightedness and farsightedness.

I had lenses put in several years ago, and it only corrected my nearsightedness. I carry glasses to read. I've worn glasses since I was in fourth grade. I was tired of sweating on them in the summer and them fogging up in the winter, so the new lenses were a big improvement. I carry reading glasses and have a pair lying almost anywhere I might need to read. I've said that cataracts have been the best thing to go wrong with me in old age! (-:

My wife had hers done a few years later, and she opted to correct both nearsightedness and farsightedness.

Both of us got along great after the procedure.

I'd say it's just a personal decision.
