| Where you are thinking early may planting i would try to some short day like you want. Also going for cattle feed i would maybe stretch my maturities as far as an 85 day. If it comes off wet you can always feed it. It will also expand your harvest window Also i farm some really tough blow sand ground. The one thing you have to worry about is shank strength and hanging on in a drought. If it is tough drought it will fall off in the wind so you need to be ready to get it when it is close to mature. I have lost 40 to 50 bushels an acre due to wind in my sand. I would stay out of milo as there isnt hybrid maturity short enough to get it to dry down and also with no export market the price is worthless.
