If you are used to glasses, the standard lens works well. If I remember, the Dr asked as they will correct either distance, or near. But not both. Wife herself had those put in, and just needs glasses for reading. She just wears a no prescription on top and readers in the bottom.
Medicare pays for 1 pair of glasses (including a "special frame" that medicare covers) Those frames are in a drawer, and sometimes the optometrist pushes more expensive designer frames. So be aware...
