G. Cameron Brown, 69, of Brocton, Illinois, passed away at 1:35 a.m. EST Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a lifelong farmer.
He was born February 25, 1956, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Eli and Joyce (Carrington) Brown.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Brown of Redmon, Illinois; two children, Heath Brown (Paisley Sanquenetti) of Brocton and Danielle (Ryan) Haddix of Paris; two brothers, Kim Brown of Paris and Scott Brown of Brocton; a sister, Sande Brown of Redmon; three grandchildren, Knox, Brooks, and Memphis Haddix; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Cam loved his family, his community, and his work as a farmer. He was elected to several terms as an Embarrass Township Trustee. He also served as a board member of the Embarrass Community Center and Park, and he was proud of the improvements that he helped make to the property and church building. Cam will be remembered as a sociable, caring, and generous person who was good at fixing things and always took the high road.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Embarrass Community Center and Park.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Services celebrating his life will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Embarrass Community Church near Redmon. Burial will follow in Embarrass Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.
