SOIL | If you still have an iTC, you should consider taking advantage of the dirt cheap prices on SF3000s right now.
SF1 is much better than WAAS, but not perfect. SF2 is better yet, but why anyone still pays for that when 6000 receivers are plentiful and affordable now and far more accurate?
SF3 (6000 receiver) is suppose to be repeatable for 9 months, and SF-RTK (7000 and 7500 receiver) for up to 5 years. I have a theory though that all those signals (SF1, SF2, SF3, SF-RTK) sent by Deere is really just one signal, it's how the receiver is able to process the SF3 vs SF-RTK or programmed to ignore to create the SF1 signal. Just a theory though, no proof either way.
On a SF6000 or newer, RTKx is just SF3 or SF-RTK but using a calculation based on your correction so that when your RTK is back, it doesn't move or appear any different. Hence the reason RTKx last 14 days rather than 15 minutes like most of the competition. | |
