Biggest weed challenges are green foxtail and Russian thistle. Easy to control with rt3 and dicamba. Could use status or widematch in problem areas, we have some fireweed but not horrible. affordable enough to do a couple in crop passes and I would plan on that. Ground currently has good stubble cover and would notill into it.

Last time I got a written agreement it was 7.2ton of silage 7.2X35$ is 252/acre. I don’t know how many acres they would approve

Currently wheat is 140$ barley is 95$ lentils and peas are some higher but I’m out of rotation acres for next year. can only insure pulses every 3rd year due to white mold and we abused our rotation this year to try stay profitable. I have no canola or flax yield and T yield is terrible.

Run a group 15 and mesotrione, I usually get by with one pass chasing the planter on short season corn in northern MN, status is an expensive plan. The best way to not delay your crop is to never see grass in it. I think you will want to plant close to 12,000 to 15,000 with that early of maturity. I would look for the tallest early corn hybrids with a good drought score that I could find. Low populations with second ears make more sense in areas with plenty of time for grain fill.
