coast of Maine
My good friend Pushbutton, disced down sweetcorn late july, immediately drilled in this mix that some guys up north are using in potatoes every other year. The growth is phenominal, abouy 2 ft tall mix of 6 plant types,so thick I think you would get stuck with 2wd pickup just trying to cross.peas/turnip/radish/rye grass(grass )/winter rye/oats/clover= (not so much growth as dry)...seed cost was 32$ acre.I know it does not help grain guys but this is Maine so maybe that mix would work south prior to harvest.
