Nitrification rate by temperature;
 Upper 70s to low 80s- Maximum nitrification rates.
60 F: About 50% of the maximum rate.
50 F: Approximately 10–20% of he maximum rate.
40 F: Close to zero rate
Below 40 F: Nitrification effectively stops, and most applied nitrogen remains as ammonium
