I'm going to disk some bean stubble going to corn yet here this fall. If I wasn't going to disk it I'd pull the ripper through it. Here where I am on fairly heavy clay I find that if I don't work the ground in the fall it works up terrible in the spring, nothing but lumps. Notill corn would be great into the beans stubble but have yet to figure out how to make that the most profitable in this area.
Heres your solution, try a strip freshener type tool such as Yetter CC unit. Can also band some fertility of your choice at same time. Grayed off 3 hours later, pull in and plant. Be ready to be amazed how well it works.
