And if you beleive a market is going to stay vertical you are very naive.

Anyone with any commom sense knows we will NEVER get our cow herd back ever!!!!! So while yes it should stay up. It wont.

So imports will eventually happen no matter what. Fight it all you want but that is the road we will be forced to. So adapt, make changes to your operation.

But i also believe you have very little worry about going back to sub $1000 calves either. I think $1300-1500 4-5 -6weights will be bottom. Should be in territory not to lose money if run a tight ship. Itll be like $4 corn is the new $2 corn. $1300 be the new $675 on 4 weights. Jmo.

If you think the market was to naturally crash at the same time as price controls came on, you might as well move to Russia or mainland China.

Same is being said about the grain markets. Might as well sell out for pennies on the dollar, where should I send the check?

Take a page from history. From 1850 to 1960, the US had extremely protective tarrifs on virtually every market. Look at how well we did then, regardless of what else was happening in the world.

Lol. If I had a dollar for every single time someone stated they knew, thought, or believe they knew where the bottom would or should be and one wouldn't have to worry about "prices below $x ever again" I would own the entire corn belt.

Corn, locally, is $3, by the way. $2.50 is break even.
