I've been doing nothing in the fall with bean stubble going to corn. I use a cover crop after wheat but here trying to get a cover crop after souys is a waste of time. If tillage is needed I'd much prefer a chisel plow. Problem for me is that I spread my potash in the winter. Can't if you chisel plow it. A fall disc pass on my ground turns my ground into concrete


1000's and 1000's of acres here has dry fertilizer put on and chiseled in. Curious why you say you can't?

Im sorry. I misread your post. I usually do not have time to spread and get chisel plowed before freeze up. Id really prefer not to spread fertilizer before freeze up
