Whitewater, WI | When you import files one of the very last windows you work through is where you assign grower, field, operation, etc, as well as year. Assuming you are importing individual field shape files. SMS doesn't care what year it was assigned in the machine, you assign that.
As the other guy said, if you're doing a batch import you should be able to right click on the operation, choose edit item, and I believe the window I mentioned ealier will come up.
