We have unintentionally mated half sibs a couple times as we missed ai or a sort and the cleanup bulls were out of the same sire. Better results than the intended matings in the same group of cows. I’m a believer in heterosis and line breeding both when used right.
Go for it and wind the good ones as tight as you can, I don’t think a registration paper matters to the answer of your question.
