Central SD | Is breeding quarter sibs to each other too close? I want to increase the influence of one bull and his mother’s cow family in my herd. I know the genetics I am using really well and want to stabilize the genes for feet, fertility, udders and maternal disposition at calving. I already have quite a bit of this bull and his mother’s cow family in the herd. I was wondering about coming back again with another round. I run commercial cows only. I normally background or finish my steers none of the calves will be sold at weaning. | |
