My brother lost his wife at the age of 43 in 2009. He had a young son and daughter to take care of.
My sister died at 56 in 2019 at the age of 56. My brother in law had 3 sons and a daughter who were older the youngest in high school.
Sister in law and sister both had cancer and they suffered terribly. Their husbands did everything possible for their wives to care for them. Brother and brother in law struggled as anyone who has their spouse die. Neither my brother or brother in law remarried. They both were as devastated as you are.
