I like your conclusion. Just like with any product, it works best when it is understood for what it is. Nitrogen is an often over-applied nutrient and IMO Green Lightning sometimes gets credited for the efficiency that really just came from cutting back the conventional nitrogen rates. And like you said, that is not to say there isn't anything to the whole nitric acid thing.
