ecmn | They are correct that it takes about 1 lb of nitrogen to make one bushel. But the snake oil salesman in retail agronomy don't usually account for the soil and biology doing it. This year I got some spots as low as .54 applied pounds per bushel. I can't fathom in 2026 any farmer is going to apply 200 nitrogen credits for 200 bushel corn.
Green lightning is not cost effective right now. Even if the machine was free, the cost of the energy makes it way too expensive of a nitrogen source.
And at roughly 1.5 or two nitrogen credits per gallon. Also made the water volume, not a plausible or reasonable nitrogen source at this time.
