We have never done tap T into 6”. We always use 6-4 t’s. But I see a lot of guys online/youtube use tap T for 6” mains and they seem like very good installers and they don’t doubt the integrity of it one bit. I never liked the look of a 4” hole into 6” tile, but it’d not based on anything more than personal perception. For 8” we use tap T
