All depends on how early you plant and spring conditions. If you plant early those beans are sitting in cool/wet soil a lot longer than if you plant later. We put a good rate of fungicide/insecticide, inoculant and Saltro on. Yes it costs more but we plan every year to plant early to get the highest yield potential.

I have considered dropping the insecticide because a lot of Wisconsin trials show it’s not needed. But what worries me is if it’s the first field of beans up in the area that’s where the bugs will go and not knowing the insect pressure below the soil surface.
