if you want to talk about tariffs.... seed is higher again, chemicals higher again. have you looked at fertilizer prices, this is the highest i have ever seen them in my farm career.
all we ever hear is that he's going to give us more money. we don't need hand outs, i want markets for the product. so far this term we are seeing less markets from the deal maker.
in the end, talk to your banker to get a feel for your area. mine says lots of people are strapped. a quick look at 60 minutes last week says farmer suicides are up fairly sharply.
i guess i can say that i think my operation is okay for now but i don't have as shiny of equipment as everyone else in my area. if some 8RTs got a little cheaper due to the downturn I wouldn't be too sad but they aren't, nothing is. | |
