My experience with them is that they come on after the residual herbicides degrade, in my case I applied 3 qts of generic lexar at mid may plantings and then 3 pts of glyphosate about a month later. The BC came on in August after 7" of rain in July. My plan going forward is to drone spray glyphosate where needed in early September .
