Does anyone have any idea what the going rental rate is for pasture in south central Illinois? Have tried U of I Extension with no results. Tried searching the net, but got crazy answers. I was looking for a per head basis, but would consider a per acre basis if that's the only one available.
Last I saw of pasture rent surveys in Illinois I think our county and surrounding counties in western part of state were like $30/acre... I don't know how accurate that is. If it is accurate no wonder why landowners don't want to both with cattle on their farm. Too many factors for just a straight answer, biggest concern are infrastructure like fence, water, loading pens, and if any interior fence/water infrastructure for rotational grazing.
