Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I have two printers due to a strange circumstance. A local computer guy (happened to be blind but could do amazing things) was killed in an auto accident. His young driving assistant missed a curve and he ending up dying in the accident.
Anyway his mother had a dispersal sale of his holdings which included some computers, printers, tools, supplies etc. I attended the sale and purchased some items. One of the items was a HP Laser Jet P3015 Printer. It was marked at $20. I purchased it but didn't expect it to work. I felt that the Mother could certainly use the money and took it home but didn't try it. One day I decided to clean it up and give it a try.
Much to my amazement, it works perfectly. I have used it as my main printer for a couple of years now. At times, I need a color printer for maps but generally black & white is fine. To handle the color jobs I purchased a low end HP color jet printer from Wal-Mart. It is enrolled in the HP Ink Program.
This combination has worked out well for me and I use the Laser for all printing jobs that are Black and White. I use the other printer for the less frequent color jobs such as printing variety and harvest maps.
I'm not certain what I'm going to do when I finally need supplies for the old Laser. It has certainly served me well. I might buy HP supplies or go with a new Brother Black and White Laser and keep the HP for the occasional color jobs.
It might seem silly to have two printers but the plan does have some advantages and might be cheaper than a single one to do it all.
