I was expecting a price about $50-75 less than that. For a small regional, unknown company, with unknown genetics.......am I missing something? They are just as bad as any of the "big ag" companies if price is the complaint.
Price isn't necessarily the complaint. It's the forcing of trait stacks to drive the price up, the unfair contracts, the unfair trait royalties, the unfair genetic royalties, the way they undercut their own customers, the way a "new" customer will get a unit of corn for $290 but the customer who has been buying for years will pay $320/unit. The zone pricing. A customer in zone A will pay $50/unit more than a customer in zone B. There's so much more to it than price. Most often, price isn't a huge factor as the hybrid will perform per acre to more than cover the cost of seed. It's everything else that's problematic. |
