C IL | Boy, are you in for a surprise in a few years. Have a thought-through backup plan for the year it doesn't work anymore. I remember the reports of it not working on hemp in the south/delta area, then a few years later boom, quit working here on hemp maybe 10 years ago. More accurately, it killed some of the waterhemp and palmer and the resistant plants spread so quickly that it was all over in maybe 2 seasons. AMS, surfactants/loaded gly, weed and feed, droplet size, carrier volume, time of day, weed size - didn't matter Now most everyone is on a multi-mode two-pass residual with (formerly dicamba or) liberty in beans to get what germinates late and comes through the first residual. Callisto still working on small hemp, but breakthrough is getting shorter on all group 15's. But I get it, a guy I know from ND keeps reminding me that glufosinate resistance is a thing since they have been using it for a couple decades in canola, and that will be a sad day when it happens here. |
