Subject: RE: Farm Accounting Program,

Do you have another computer ?

I'm in a similar position. Have Quicken 2002 installed on a laptop and 2 windows XP machines that are off line no internet connection.  I've got an old HP printer that is the only thing that 1 of those computers seems to recognize and work with. I do everything through the year on 1 machine and backup to 3 flash drives every time I make entries. At year end I take one flash drive and open it on the other machine that can print and print out my year end reports. At some point I'm going to get hung with no way to print as well.

I have found that you can export the reports into excel format but they are not as clear cut and formatted as the quicken reports. You can sort of monkey with column widths to get fairly close in appearance. You should be able to save this as an excel file on a USB drive and take it to another computer if you have one and open and print from there.

It's a lot of extra steps and hassles but I've got 23 yrs of data I'm not giving up or getting locked out of.

Previously I had a program called Managing Your Money on a DOS based computer. Had probably 15 years of data in that program that is still archived on 3.5 floppies but no way to read or get to now . I refuse to do the cloud and online stuff and be held hostage with outrageous force tied sales to keep access to my own data. I'll go back to pen and paper or build a excel or open office spreadsheet that I control and can store locally.
