The moisture sensor consists of two parts: The fin which determines the conductivity of the grain and a temperature sensor (small gold dot) below the fin. The device uses both readings to calculate the moisture of the grain.
With prolonged use, the temperature sensor may have become "worn" off which could explain this problem.
