ecmn | Is green lightning snake oil? No. It actually does what they say it does. It uses it energy to create nitrate with water. As far as the plant is concerned, the nitrate that it produces is the same nitrate in the other fertilizers.
Is it cost effective right now. Nope. Roughly three to five times the cost to just operate the machine versus the cost of urea per N credit. We haven't even factored in the cost of the machine.
Is it practical right now? Yes and no. To carry that much water to be that your only source of nitrogen for the year that would be very impractical to try to tend that much water within the tight time frames we have.
But as a product you could add to your liquid side dress program or to a foliar program. Yep would work. Just looking at the nitrate itself, not the cost. The product itself could work very well as an additive to your existing liquid system.
