deep SW On. | Video was interesting but I don't think now is anything like the '80's or '30's ....Some are struggling but there is many generational farms with tremendous wealth, growing bigger every yr. Mid west is soy /corn country but other areas that are fruits, veggies can feed a lot.
Food insecurity ,like the Mayans happens as we cover ur best ground with asphalt, housing, ect.
Google Kingsville/Leamington Ontario greenhouses , its crazy the amount of food they can produce on an acre
i.e. https://www.muccifarms.com/
My thoughts are farms keep consolidating & growing . The tough thing to accept, and for my family included is not all of us will be able to continue on farming as be it economies of size, machinery/land costs , ect. Today in grains and oilseeds farming $10 mil. would hardly set up a decent sized farm.More, bigger, better safety nets and ad hoc payments really help the BTO just grow bigger
Nobody knows the future other than our time here is limited , someday we may appreciate Brazil, ect. being able to feed us.
