sw corner ia.
every tree is a project. dig roots from every stump till area around it is soft. once all the brush is burned get an old spring tooth harrow (kent) and put all the teeth across the back row. drag this around and dump all the sticks in a pile, burn them up too. the kent will lift straight up so everything falls out. have had one for many years.

do this a while till what is left is so small it won't hurt machinery then disc it up with a very heavy disc till you are tired of that, then a few passes with a field cultivator might get it so you can farm it.

but... make sure you break all the roots with the hoe first. take your time and get them all. this is usually the achilles heel of clearing.
